The TV crisis appears to be over. The problem that seemed to be caused by TV and PC incompatibility was in fact caused by faulty wiring in the socket used by the Net Yaroze Member who reported the fault.
We have received reports of possible compatibility issues where the Net Yaroze PlayStation and a PC are used in conjunction with televisions
which are not suitable for connecting to earth. This configuration may result in damage to your Net Yaroze PlayStation and/or television.
Damage may occur where the TV and PC are plugged in but not switched on.
Please ensure that the television you are using is suitable for connecting to earth, consult the television manufacturer for advice and/or SCEE.
Where your television is not a model suitable for connecting to earth we would be happy to refund the money paid for the Net Yaroze Starter
Kit on its receipt at SCEE's offices. SCEE will either arrange for a courier to pick up the Net Yaroze Starter Kit or reimburse postage costs.
If you require further information contact The Net Yaroze Team by E-mail or phone +44 (0)171 447 1616.
There is now a Web site for residents of USA and Canada who wish to join the Net Yaroze project. See Net Yaroze USA or www.netyaroze.com for all official PlayStation and Net Yaroze sites.
Sony Computer Entertainment Europe announce a price drop of its consumer PlayStation to UK£129 with similar price drops throughout the
rest of Europe.
The price drop takes effect as of March 1997. This price drop does not affect the cost of joining Net Yaroze.
Net Yaroze is launched in Europe, the Web site and news groups up and running (if some parts a little bit under construction) and the first batch of Application Forms are being sent out today.
The first batch of Net Yaroze Application Forms will be sent out on the 28th of February, so they will arrive on some people's doorsteps on the
1st March. Don't panic if you don't receive one then, there are thousands of people on the mailing list and it may take several days for everyone
to get theirs.
Remember to allow 28 days between SCEE receiving your correctly completed form with full payment and delivery of your Net Yaroze Starter
Kit.
The SCEE Web site was down for a few days of last week due to an administrative problem (not technical). This has now been resolved (as you can see). We apologise if you were unable to access the site durig this time.
Net Yaroze Members to get Code Warrior for only £UK90 if they choose to buy it with their Net Yaroze Member's PlayStation. See FAQ for details.
SCEE have been experiencing problems with E-mail over January/ February so many Net Yaroze enquiries may seem to have been ignored. We haven't ignored you, our mails just haven't been getting out. Conversely, in some cases, the latest E-mail circular seems to have been sent to some people several times. We are sorry, normal service will be resumed as soon as possible (ahem, very soon, we hope).
